Caldera + Lab is a single product site offering a luxury and natural serum in the limited men’s skincare industry.
As lead designer & creative director on this project I had an absolute blast developing this brand’s aesthetic to take it to market.
This product was created at a time that allowed it to fill a hole in the men’s skincare market. Through competitive analysis I came to find that the market was incredibly undersaturated and there were, in fact, no direct competitors to my knowledge. I pivoted, and began to examine what I determined to be “qualified” indirect competitors (i.e. those with single product sites, those offering luxury skincare, and those offering natural skincare).
After thorough competitive analysis I began to develop the brand identity into an experience. This is what brings me joy in life!
Working closely with the founding members of the company and my teammates at BVACCEL, I led creative direction of the brand, content strategy, UX/UI design, and even a bit of photography & copywriting.
I challenged myself to use the basic Shopify templates in innovative ways and incorporated + prototyped rich animations wherever I could. Explaining the “Our Story” of the brand was tricky because it is told in 3 parts; The Why, The How, and The Results. I solved for this by creating a single story page with a clean dropdown menu that allows the user to immerse themselves in this story at their own pace.
